Freedom a la Cart partners with CATCH Court to provide supportive services to the survivors in the program. While the women of CATCH Court have support from many agencies to help them navigate the new life journey they are beginning, Freedom a la Cart provides personal mentors to offer life coaching and emotional support. Our mentors show unconditional love and friendship, teach new social norms, and act as a support person. As Freedom works to expand our programs to guide women toward self sufficiency (such as help with receiving their GED), so does the need for volunteers and mentors.
The weekly time commitment to be a mentor is minimal (approximately 2 hours per week) but requires consistency. Mentors are paired with a new participant in the 2-year CATCH Court program, so we ask that you commit 2 years to your relationship with your mentee. You WILL have the opportunity to make an impact in the lives of the women you meet. There may also be opportunities to mentor ladies in our workforce training program who are not participants of CATCH Court. Please note, Freedom a la Cart also requires all mentors/volunteers to obtain a background check. Ready to take the next step? Join us for training!
Registration for this event is free. If you would like to order coffee or pastries from the café, please arrive 15-20 minutes early.
